　　either的用法

　　1、either作代词时，意为“(二者之中)任何一个”，在句中作主语或宾语，表示单数概念。

　　例：You may take either of the roads.

　　两条路你随便走哪一条。

　　2、either作主语时谓语动词一般用单数形式，但在否定句中常用复数形式。

　　3、either可单独用，也可和of连用，of后跟复数名词或复数代词，但意义明确时可省略of短语。

　　4、either用作副词时须放在否定的动词或形容词之后，表示“也(不)”，加强语气。

　　例：It's not as heavy, either.

　　这也不那么重。

　　5、either在口语中有时也可放在否定句中的名词后加强语气。

　　6、either可以和or连用，表示“或是…或是…”。在连接并列的主语时谓语动词一般和邻近的主语一致; 用于否定句中，表示“既(不)…又(不)”。

　　例：I will go on business either this week or next week.

　　我将在这星期或下星期出差。

　　7、用作形容词(adj.)

　　例：The thief was put in the police car with a policeman on either side of him.
