while的四个用法

　　while的基本释义及用法介绍

　　while作为连词时，意思有在…期间;当…的时候;与…同时;(对比两件事物)…而，…然而。

　　1、当意为当……时候、和……同时时，引导时间状语从句。

　　例句：While I was watching TV, the bell rang.

　　我看电视时，铃响了。

　　Meimei watched TV while she ate her supper.

　　梅梅边吃晚饭边看电视。

　　We must have been burgled while we were asleep.

　　我们睡着时一定让贼入室偷了。

　　You can go swimming while I'm having lunch.

　　我吃午饭时你可以去游泳。

　　2、当意为虽然、尽管时，引导让步状语从句。

　　例句：While it was late, he went on working.

　　虽然很晚了，但他还在继续工作。

　　3、当意为只要时，引导条件状语从句，当于as long as。

　　4、当意为既然时，引导原因状语从句，相当于since。

　　例句：You'll never save any money while you're so extravagant.
