end短语的用法归纳复习

　　以end为中心词的介词短语

　　at the end of表示"在……的尽头"、"在……的末稍"时,后面接指地点的名词,构成介词短语,作地点状语;表示"在……结束时",后面接指事的名词,构成介词短语,作时间状语。

　　At the end of the street you will find the hospital. 你会在这条街的尽头找到那所医院。

　　At the end of the meeting, Mr Wang made a speech. 会议结束时,王先生作了发言。

　　by the end of表示"到……末为止"、"在……结束时",后面接指时间或事的名词,构成介词短语,作时间状语。

　　By the end of the strike, the whole street will be turned into one big rubbish dump. 到罢工结束时,整个街道将变成一个大垃圾堆。

　　By the end of last month, he had been on that ship for two years. 到上月末为止,他在那条船上已呆了两年了。
