　　一、stop作及物动词

　　1.停止;中止,止住[+v-ing]

　　It has stopped raining.

　　雨停了。

　　2.阻止,阻挡[(+from)]

　　The policemen stopped the fight.

　　警察制止了这场斗殴.

　　The heavy snow stopped him from coming to our party.

　　那场大雪使他未能前来参加我们的宴会.

　　3.塞住;堵塞;填塞[(+up)]

　　We stopped the leak in the gas pipe by means of lead.

　　我们用铅堵塞了煤气管上的漏洞.

　　4.断绝;止付;扣留

　　The boss has stopped my wages.

　　老板已停发我的工资.

　　5.用手指压(乐器的孔、弦)
